Engineering Manager - Reporting

This role represents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of how Vanta customers understand, visualize, and operationalize their compliance and security programs. This team is focused on evolving Vanta’s reporting platform beyond dashboards into a scalable, AI-powered reporting experience. The team owns core initiatives across enterprise reporting, historical analytics, AI-assisted insights, and certified data infrastructure powering in-product experiences.   This role sits at the intersection of data products, enterprise scalability, and product innovation. Visit our Vanta Engineering Blog https://www.vanta.com/all-categories/engineering to learn more about what our team is working on!  What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at Vanta: - Build and scale a high-performing team: lead, coach, and grow the team while hiring strategically, identifying operational gaps, and raising the engineering bar - Drive execution across strategic initiatives: Deliver against a multi-quarter roadmap spanning reporting infrastructure, enterprise reporting capabilities, AI-powered insights, and scalable data foundations - Shape technical and product strategy: Partner closely with Product and cross-functional engineering teams to define the long-term vision and architecture for Reporting and data-driven product experiences - Lead through ambiguity and rapid growth: Navigate complex, evolving problem spaces while balancing near-term customer impact with long-term platform investments - Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate deeply with Product, Design, Platform, and business stakeholders to evolve Vanta’s reporting strategy and enterprise data capabilities How to be successful in this role: - Have 4+ years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management role, with proven experience managing 8-12+ engineers - Have previously managed product engineering teams building a reporting or data visualization product - Possess strong technical depth—ideally as a former senior or staff engineer—with ability to guide data infrastructure and product architecture decisions - Have demonstrated track record of delivering results across multiple workstreams while maintaining quality and team velocity - Have experience setting product and technical strategy in partnership with Product and Design teams - Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives in a prior role - Are a strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality - Can influence cross-functional stakeholders and adjacent teams as an effective communicator and story-teller - Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact What you can expect as a Vanta'n: - Industry-competitive salary and equity - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee-only benefit premiums covered for most medical plans - 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for all new parents - Health & wellness stipend - Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend - Commuter benefits for team members who report to the SF and NYC office - Family planning benefits - Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting - Flexible PTO policy, plus 80 hours of Sick Time - 11 company-paid holidays - Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and other company-wide events! - Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state.
