About this role

BYOC is a new product initiative at Datadog that expands Datadog’s product portfolio beyond the traditional SaaS model – starting with Logs, to achieve our “Logs Everywhere” vision, and expanding into Metrics, Traces, and other Datadog products over time. As an EM2 on the BYOC team you will get to work closely with product leaders on product design/roadmap, and to lead the teams working on building, scaling, and operating the platform that will power this new business. This position reports directly to a VP Eng.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and develop the engineering teams delivering BYOC
  • Partner with PM to define roadmap, release product features and enable field teams
  • Own execution, delivery and x-functional coordination
  • Own on-call rotations, incident response and service reliability

Who You Are:

  • Experience leading product engineering teams on a scaled, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with distributed systems design and operation at scale
  • Drive to action and customer/product centric mindset
  • Great communication skills - effective from eng/teams to execs/customers
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP), orchestration (Kubernetes), and storage (RDS, S3)
  • Requirement - Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.
  • Bonus/Plus - You’re motivated to push the boundaries of how AI can improve software engineering best practices and contribute to building AI-enabled products.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing

  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
