Information about the position 

You’ll become part of the Trust’s Detection team, with a mission to protect the Vinted community from harmful activities and content. The Detection team in the Trust domain is engaged in detecting, understanding, and stopping illegal, dangerous or inappropriate content within the Vinted Marketplace. As a Decision Scientist embedded in a product team, you will become part of a cross-functional team and drive quality decisions by bringing actionable insights from data. 

You will lead hypothesis-driven product experimentation, translating data into actionable insights and product improvements. You will design and evaluate experiments with support from experienced stakeholders, ensuring rigorous validation of results and a clear, measurable impact, while maintaining high standards of data quality and accessibility.

As a Decision Scientist at Vinted, you’ll: 

• Partner with your team and stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations and answer critical business questions.
• Work alongside other decision scientists to detect and investigate specific fraud patterns.
• Test and analyse opportunities to validate their value and understand their business impact, using statistical methods and visualisation tools.
• Select, calculate, and monitor your team's key performance indicators, proactively flagging issues, running analyses, and understanding root causes
• Enable your team and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data for business insights via self-service dashboards.
• Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in analytics and decision-making to make data count.

About you 

• Experience in a Decision Science or Data Analytics role (3+ years).
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance depth of analysis with business impact.
• Familiarity with SQL and Python for data analytics.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Knowledge of statistical methods, such as A/B testing, regression analysis, and other inferential techniques.
• Highly results-oriented and comfortable with iterative processes.
• Strong communicator who can convincingly present results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Advantage: experience working in the Trust & Safety or Fraud-related area.
• Advantage: previous experience working in product teams.

Better balance holidays with workdays by working remotely! Up to 90 days per year in the EU, of these, 21 days can be spent globally. For non-EU citizens, it's 21 days worldwide. This can be combined with time off for vacation or personal time.
