Founding PLM Solutions Engineer

About the Role

This is a founding Solutions Engineer role at a Series A R&D SaaS company serving industrial and scientific markets, sitting at the intersection of pre-sales, product, and go-to-market strategy. You will own the full technical narrative in enterprise PLM deals and help define how next-generation PLM products are positioned and sold as they are being built. It is a high-ownership, high-visibility role for someone who wants real agency and upside at a critical growth stage.

What You'll Do

• Lead technical discovery and deliver value-driven demos for enterprise PLM deals in the $200K+ ARR range.

• Own the end-to-end technical narrative in deals, shaping how products are positioned and differentiated.

• Define and build demo environments, messaging, and go-to-market storytelling for new PLM products as they take shape.

• Collaborate directly with founders and product teams in tight feedback loops to influence roadmap and positioning.

• Establish the Solutions Engineering playbook from the ground up, landing key logos in a greenfield market.

• Travel to meet enterprise customers and run on-site demonstrations, including occasional travel to Europe.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of PLM solutions engineering, technical pre-sales, or enterprise software sales engineering experience.

• Deep domain expertise in Process PLM or Discrete PLM, with stronger emphasis in Process PLM.

• 5+ years working at a PLM vendor, PLM consultancy, or in an internal PLM or NPI function at a manufacturer.

• Hands-on experience with at least one major PLM platform such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia/3DEXPERIENCE, Arena, Aras, Propel, or Oracle Agile.

• Proven track record owning technical discovery, demos, and narrative in enterprise deals; comfort with story- and value-driven presentations rather than feature-led walkthroughs.

• Experience defining demo environments and go-to-market storytelling for new or emerging products.

• Familiarity with PLM integration to downstream systems such as ERP, BOM, and CAD.

• Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and R&D platforms.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Willingness to work from San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York and travel approximately 3 to 4 days per month, plus trips to Europe every other quarter.

• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

• Experience with data modeling, APIs, or PLM data migration is a plus.

• Background in a startup or scale-up Solutions Engineering organization is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $120,000 to $200,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

This role is fully remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates based in or willing to work from San Francisco CA, Los Angeles CA, or New York. The primary listed location is London, England, UK; remote candidates in the UK are also considered. On-site travel with enterprise customers is expected.
