The Scored Weekly, 19 October: five strong remote roles, three big salaries, and a 'remote' job that prioritises the office

Five remote roles that state their pay and hiring region, three of the highest stated salaries this week, one listing that says remote in the location line and hybrid in the text, and the figure that only 3.4% of hybrid listings say how many office days they expect.

This week the index tracked around 15,000 listings from 13 boards and employer career pages. Below: the roles worth a look, chosen for stated pay, a stated hiring region and freshness, exactly as the employers published them; links checked live before sending.

Three high-salary roles

Remote, but not really

Head of Procurement – Benchling carries "(Remote)" in its location line and states, in the posting, "a flexible hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes in-office collaboration", without a number of days. The pay is stated ($187,425–253,575); the office expectation is not. Its Hybrid Transparency Score is 10 of 100.

One data observation

Hybrid listings rarely say what hybrid means. Of 1,969 hybrid listings in the browsable index, 66 state how many days a week are expected in the office: 3.4%. Where a number is given, it is three in 55 of the 66 cases. Employer career pages, which publish most hybrid roles, state it least: 2.3% of Greenhouse-hosted listings, 7.1% of Ashby-hosted ones. The write-up: Hybrid means how many days?.

One transparency statistic

Of 3,858 live remote listings on 15 October, 0.9% say worldwide or anywhere, 2.5% name a region, 20.3% are United States only, and 76.3% say only "remote" or name one country. (Live listings, RRS location component; method at /how-we-score/.)
